SEAAPM Activities:
Each year the SEAAPM hosts a scientific meeting where members present items of interest to their clinical colleagues. The president-elect is the director of this meeting and sometimes invites special speakers addressing timely topics. In addition, students are encouraged to participate. Each medical physics graduate program in the southeast region was invited to send one student to the meeting to make a presentation and this year's attendees were treated to several excellent papers by students. The meeting is an informal event and includes a Friday evening social event to encourage interaction between members, their families, and exhibitors. At the end of the scientific presentations, a business meeting is held.
Most years the SEAAPM hosts a symposium on a single topic of current interest. The symposium generally runs just before the scientific meeting at the same location. Many people choose to attend both events. An expert faculty is collected and the symposium is nationally advertised. Recent topics were digital imaging, dose optimization and image quality, and shielding.
Links to recent meetings and symposia are available on the menu on the left side of this page.
The representative from the SEAAPM to the AAPM board is Kenneth Vanek. The following links concern Ken's report and AAPM activities.

The SEAAPM wishes to thank the following companies who exhibited at the 2008 symposium and meeting.
